The Campbell Foundation fellowship introduces the Chesapeake Fellowship Program. The Chesapeake Fellowship program offers applicants a paid two-year opportunity to gain professional hands-on experience in the field of environmental grant making.

The Campbell Foundation grants $40,000 per year and offers, in addition, exceptional benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid time off and state of the art technology tools.

Now funding in the Chesapeake Bay watershed for 20 years, the Keith Campbell Foundation for the Environment was established to improve the ecological conditions of America’s largest estuary system: the Chesapeake and Atlantic Coastal Bays.

The Campbell Foundation has being able to give out approximately 120 grants and continues to identify, broaden and strengthen leadership and community-based organizations to improve local and regional water quality.  The primary objectives of the Chesapeake Fellowship Program are to:

  • Support the Foundation’s ability to solve complex problems by welcoming diverse talents, perspectives, and experiences.
  • Develop Fellows to become future non-profit leaders by enhancing their capabilities and skills, building their professional network, and expanding their knowledge of conservation activities in the Chesapeake region.

Eligibility

  • Excellent computer literacy, with Windows, Mac OS, and iOS devices, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Chrome and Acrobat.
  • An enthusiastic adopter of new technology and innovative tools.
  • Comfortable working in a cloud-based, paperless environment.
  • Familiarity with various cloud-based apps such as Evernote, Box, SmartSheet and others a plus.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to success in this position.

Applications for the Campbell Fellowship Program are no longer being accepted.  Final decisions will be made before March 2019.

  • Professional statement, no longer than 500 words in length, that highlights:
    1. How your academic and professional background support innovation and the Foundation’s ability to solve complex problems
    2. How a Fellowship with the Campbell Foundation will help you reach your professional goals and contribute to a world of clean water advocacy, awareness and action.

Writing samples, two letters of recommendation, a skills test, and background/reference checks are required of final candidates for this position.
